Hi, My name is Miriam Mullery. I am an Accredited Counsellor/ Psychotherapist and Accredited Supervisor member of IACP (Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) with my own private practice since 2015.
I am a warm and compassionate humanistic psychotherapist and I work in a humanistic and integrative way with a variety of presenting issues including Anxiety, Depression, Loss and Bereavement, Burnout, Trauma, Abuse, Trauma, Cancer/Physical Illness diagnosis & Journey, Relationship Issues, Suicidal Ideation, Self-Harm & more. I also facilitate Personal Development and growth, group Bereavement Support and Group Supervision. My aim is to support you, my client, in achieving your potential for a rich and meaningful life.
I understand how difficult and courageous it is to allow yourself to be vulnerable, to be seen, to talk about your feelings and to bring into the therapy room your deepest fears. My promise to you is that I will walk this journey with you, at your pace, in an environment that is safe, non-judgemental and empathic, where you will feel heard, supported and gently challenged in the exploration of your unique difficulties. The therapeutic approach I offer will give you the space to explore your problems, difficulties, fears, along with your potential for healing and recovery.
I value you as a unique individual and I will meet you where you are at in your process. I recognise and honour your ability to determine what is true for you. I believe that every human being has a yearning and a capability to develop to their full potential, given the opportunity and appropriate support.
The objective of our work together will be to allow you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and to assist you in seeing options available in relation to you and your life, to experience a different way of being in the world. My goal for you is that you will become your own expert, and together you and I will work towards finding your true and authentic self and give it space to shine.
I hold the following professional qualifications: Level 9 Higher Diploma in Loss and Bereavement with the Irish Hospice Foundation and Royal College of Surgeons, Higher Diploma in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy with ICPPD, Diploma in Supervision Across Professions with ICPPD, post-graduate certification in: CBT with PCI, Counselling Process for Childhood Sexual Abuse with Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, Applied trauma and crisis intervention suicide training with the HSE and Pieta House. “Your journey has moulded you for the greater good, and it was exactly what it needed to be. Don’t think that you have lost time. It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the now. And now is the right time… ”
