Miriam Mullery MIACP, Dip. Counselling & Psychotherapy

Miriam Mullery MIACP, Dip. Counselling & Psychotherapy

My name is Miriam Mullery, I’m a qualified Holistic Counsellor, IACP accredited,  based in Athlone and East Galway & Midlands Cancer Support Centre in Ballinasloe. I have completed my core training with ICPPD, Athlone. My areas of work include: Anxiety, Cancer & Physical Illness, Depression, Self-Esteem, Bereavement and Loss, Abuse, Trauma, Relationship difficulties, Suicidal Ideation and more. I also facilitate group Bereavement Support.

I have trained with Dublin Rape Crisis Centre in the Counselling process for Sexual Abuse, CBT Certificate with PCI, Applied Suicide Intervention with HSE, Trauma training with Babette Rothschild and Gerry Grace (US Trauma specialist)  and currently doing a Masters in Loss and Bereavement with the Irish Hospice Foundation and Royal College of Surgeons.

I understand how difficult and courageous it is to allow yourself to be vulnerable, to be seen, to talk about your feelings and to bring into the therapy room your deepest fears.  My promise to you is that I will walk this journey with you, at your pace, in an environment that is safe, non-judgemental and empathic, where you will feel heard, supported and gently challenged in the exploration of your unique difficulties.

I value you as a unique individual and I will meet you where you are at in your process.  I recognise and honour your ability to determine what is true for you.  I believe that every human being has a yearning and a capability to develop to their full potential, given the opportunity and appropriate support.

The objective of our work together will be to allow you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and to assist you in seeing options available in relation to you and your life, to experience a different way of being in the world.  My goal for you is that you will become your own expert, and together you and I will work towards finding your true and authentic self and give it space to shine.  I work from a Humanistic and Integrative modality.

” If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place” – Eckhart Tolle

“Your journey has moulded you for the greater good, and it was exactly what it needed to be.  Don’t think that you have lost time.  It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the now.  And now is the right time… ” – Asha Tyson
